Ireland South East – Closer than you think
Background
The South East Region of Ireland refers to the area of Ireland covered by the counties of Carlow, Kilkenny, Tipperary, Waterford and Wexford, a region where nearly half a million people call home. The South East Region has a lot to offer residents and visitors alike, from beautiful and diverse landscapes, to a vibrant and ambitious business community and a high quality of life to be enjoyed by those who choose to settle here. The South East is one of the best connected regions in Ireland by road, rail and sea with two European ports (Rosslare and Waterford), one airport and an extensive motorway network spanning the region that allows travel times from the region to Dublin in 1.5 to 2 hours, and to Cork in 1 to 2.5 hours. Waterford Airport will soon recommence commercial flights to Birmingham, London and Manchester in the coming months, providing further options for business and personal travel in and out of the region.
Goal
We live and work in the South East of Ireland and we want more to join us. We want to promote our region and its urban centres as real viable and attractive alternatives to other cities and regions in the rest of Ireland the UK and elsewhere. With a recovering economy and more investment in the region, there has never been a better time to show the world what we have to offer here in our corner of Ireland.
But first we need your help to get a better understanding of what you think of the region and what is important to you when choosing a place to live and work. Your views are very valuable to us and together we have a chance to really impact the future of this region. We have created four questionnaires, each designed for a particular audience, and we are asking you to please complete the questionnaire that is most relevant to you. We will use the data collected to develop and inform a 12-month brand and marketing strategy for the South East Region, which will be launched in October 2017. It will showcase the best the region has to offer to a national and an international audience.
